Pennsylvania Square & Round Dance Federation
The Pennsylvania Square & Round Dance Federation provides several services to its member organizations that are best handled at the state level. For example it's easier to arrange for special license plates once and allow each person to obtain their license through the PSRDF. The list of services with links is shown below.
Emergency Services - Each organization should have a plan of what to do in an emergency. This web page suggests how a club should plan for emergencies.
Keystone Award - Pennsylvania square dancers like to recognize those who have gone out of their way to contribute to the advancement of square dancing in the state. The Keystone Award provides a way to provide this recognition.
New Dancer Program - The new dancer program was created to offer an incentive to clubs for successfully graduating new dancers and retaining them in the square dance community.
License Plates - Pennsylvania provides a way for drivers to show that they are members of a specific organization. Dancers can obtain such a license plate indicating that they are square dancers by filling out the form on this web page.
State Outfit - There are several occasions, like national conventions, when dancers want to show that they are from a particular state and they do this by all wearing the same outfit. Pennsylvania's outfit is described on the web page.
Insurance - Insurance rates are less when there is a larger number of people in the pool. The PSRDF partners with the USDA to coordinate rates for the members of each club providing a rate lower than would be available if each club were separately insured.
Coronavirus Precautions - When the Coronavirus was first identified, square dance clubs were looking for standard procedures, which if followed, would keep their dancers healthy and protect themselves from any liability. The PSRDF put the the information on this page together to help.
